Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is known as the white city or the city of light. Built on the steep bank of the Douro River, Porto is much more than the centre of the Port wine industry; it is also the undisputed capital of the north of Portugal and gateway to the Douro valley and the cultural heritage of the whole country. The city boasts numerous hotels, cafes and restaurants. The narrow streets of the old town have led it being designated a UNESCO World Heritage City.
Ideally situated in the middle of the Mediterranean, Malta boasts superb hotels excellent restaurants, friendly people and a rich historical heritage.
