SMS Malta
SMS, one of then largest tourism agencies in Malta, working as part of a strategic alliance with Ambient Events Limited to provide a full meeting, conference and incentive service for UK based organisations.
SMS Tourism had opened its doors after a decade since the start of the shipping business in 1940. Being the pioneers in this new industry was to serve the company well to handle through the years and have remained a forward looking company. SMS is a family run business which today account for a big percentage of all incoming business to the islands. The company has long since realised the need to have a young and energetic team, and this is evident from the directors down to the staff in our various offices.
SMS Group also has other companies which offer their services to the service industry such as port operations in 4 different countries, sms travel offices organising all our outgoing business from the islands as well as cruises, SMS Cargo which is an important partner, especially in conferences and exhibitions. The years of experience in the conference industry have also been a great helping organising some very high profile events over the years. We have organised for various clients their product launches, conventions and exhibitions as well as a number of incentives for large corporations both local and from overseas. Locally we are recognised a leading partner with all the hotels on the islands and as such a considerable influent with our various partners, thus realising clients needs and making us creative not only in the product that we provide but also in the way that we deliver it.
Some of our past clients include HP Spain, Bacau Dalloz, Mapa France, Nokia Finland, Thomas Cook, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Nestlé, Honda Netherlands, Specsavers, Royal Society of Medicine, Oracle, LG Ukraine, Banque Populaire, BPCL , Intercell Slovakia, Moto Expert, WTO Commission, GE Europe and many others. In the past we have also organised events in conjunction with governmental bodies, so contacts in various governmental departments have been made in have always proved to be very helpful when called upon to help from time to time on various projects.
SMS have a complement of over 140 staff on full time basis, as well as a host of part time professionals who have years of experience in the industry. The conference and incentive department is made up of a team of 6 individuals who are based in our s.julians head office. Mr Robert Caruana is the Sales and Operations Manager and has been in the industry for over 15 years, while the rest of the team have their various areas of expertise in the building and implementing of these events.
