SMS, one of then largest tourism agencies in Malta, working as part of a strategic alliance with Ambient Events Limited to provide a full meeting, conference and incentive service for UK based organisations.

Since joining the EU in 2004, Malta has benefited from improvement funds in excess of £550 million. The majority of this has been used to develop the transport infrastructure and the countries historic venues. Next year, Malta joins the euro and the Malta Tourist Authority (MTA) is keen to assure event planners that the destination will continue to offer the same value for money.

Ambient Director, Leon LeBlanc led a party of UK buyers for a familiarisation visit to Malta last November. The trip was coordination by Ambient in partnership with our local DMC partner SMS Conferences and Incentives, the Malta Tourism Authority and Air Malta.

Whenever in the past I've been to the Mediterranean, I've usually come back and done things like playing bouzouki music for a fortnight upon return; the idea being to recreate the atmosphere, and to remind myself that I've been away.  It's nothing new of course, people try to evoke pleasant memories by taking holiday snaps, buying souvenirs, and so on.  That begs the question - what would you take away from Malta in the way of memories, or anything else for that matter?

Situated in the middle of the Mediterranean, Malta is halfway between Mainland Europe and North Africa and yet only just over 3 hours flying time from all the major UK airports.
