Ambient Tours specialises in developing cultural and heritage experiences for travellers who are keen to learn more about the places and the people who shaped UK history and whose legacy still lives on to this day.
Our existing coach tour packages have been designed for Groups of 20/30 people.
For smaller parties or travellers who prefer a greater degree of personal choice in their itinerary, our self-drive option provides an ideal alternative. You can chose to drive you own vehicle, hire one yourself, or we can organise car hire one on your behalf.
Ambient Tours provide a personalised travel itinerary devised to ensure that more time is spent at the destinations and places you are interested in and that the amount of time actually travelling is minimised. In this way, your trip will be more informative and less arduous.
Choosing what you want to see
If time is limited, we are able to adapt any of our existing ‘On the Trail of the Tudors’, ‘Special Interest’ or ‘Town and Country’ tours to give you a 1 day taster, 2, 3 or 7 day options.
Alternatively, you may prefer a customised package that is tailored to meet your individual requirements. Our service includes provision of maps, directions and recommending places to eat on your travels. We also organise admission fees to the places of interest on your route and dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation at the end of each day you are on the road.
Great accommodation, superb service and excellent food
At Ambient Tours we have a simple philosophy when it comes to choosing hotels and restaurants:
If it's not good enough for us then it's not good enough for our guests.
With this in mind, we have selected a number of four star country house and luxury heritage hotels that provide the very best accommodation, superb service and excellent food, set in beautiful surroundings. A select list of superb family run bed and breakfast accommodation is also available. The same degree of attention to detail has gone into choosing the venues for recommended lunch stops suggested in our itineraries.
They include a choice of quality tea rooms, character restaurants, or traditional Inns that are located, either at the historic venues visited, or in one of the many idyllic towns and villages on your route. All have been selected because they are full of history and character and provided excellent food.
