A New Cultural and Heritage departure for Ambient Tours

A little over two years ago, the management team of the Ambient Tours, a division of UK based Ambient Events Limited, decided to develop a range of tours to cater for the growing market of older, more affluent consumers.

Research indicated that these ‘Baby Boomers’ had both the time and the money to indulge themselves and were looking for activities to fulfil a requirement for real cultural and heritage experiences.

Informal focus groups established that, although they were looking for value for money, they did not wish to compromise a desire for excellent accommodation, good food and informative visits to destinations and venues that would ‘fire’ their imagination.

A number of special interest subjects were muted and by far the most popular was the Tudors.
The Tudor period was one of the most influential in England’s long and turbulent history. Not only do the exploits of the Tudor Kings and Queens continue to enthral, as demonstrated by the glut of recent films and the TV series but also the rich cultural heritage of many other famous Tudors can be seen in the fine castles and country houses that they built and lived in, the discoveries they made and the battles they won. The art that they created, and the books and plays that they wrote, are still admired, read and produced all over the world.
The Ambient Team decided that more in depth research was necessary to ensure that their final package would meet the requirements of their chosen target markets in the UK, USA, Canada and Australasia.
After two years, thousands of miles travelled, scores of hotels, restaurants and historical venues visited, specialist guides interviewed and historic documents consulted, the ‘On the Trail of the Tudors’ concept finally emerged. It was clear that one tour was not sufficient to tell the whole story 
As a result, four uniquely themed tour packages have been designed by Ambient Tours to introduce visitors to an authentic flavour of England during Tudor times.
This will be achieved through visits to the actual places where the key historical events took place and the excellent background information provided by Ambient tour leaders and guides who have been selected because of their knowledge and enthusiasm.
The final tours relive the scandals and intrigues surrounding the ‘Tudor Monarchs’. Explain more about the ‘Influential Tudors’ whose decisions and actions shaped history. Tell the stories of fortitude that drove the ‘Tudor Adventurers and Explorers’ to defeat their enemies and discover new lands. Examine the lives and times of the ‘Tudor Poets and Playwrights’ at the places they lived, studied, performed and wrote their great masterpieces.
The hotels, restaurants and bars, have been specially selected because of the ambience of their surroundings, the excellence of their service and the quality of their food based on the Ambient Tours philosophy “If it’s not good enough for us then it’s not good enough for our guests”. 

Every effort has been made to ensure that the itineraries allow plenty of time to relax and enjoy the scenery, either when travelling in luxury, air conditioned coaches, or on reaching the final destinations.
The Ambient Tours ‘On the trail of the Tudor’ packages have been designed to appeal to groups of couples or single people who are interested in cultural heritage and will enjoy  improving their knowledge of Tudor times whilst travelling through the beautiful English countryside. Group sizes are limited to no less than 20 and no more than 30 people.
